DIGGING THE HOLE

As you dig down create a couple of shelves about 12" wide ;
one 6" to 10" down and another 12" to 14" down.
This creates a stair effect going down into the hole all the way
around the pond. The upper most shelf will hold edging rocks ,
stones and marginals (bog plants). The next one down can hold
more rock and/or submerged aquatic plants..
The bottom level will he the deepest point in the pond and
this a good place for
water lilies , gunnera or lotus. You will also
want space for a winterizing pump if required. Most of all
Be CREATIVE you can accomplish just about any idea using
a
Rubber Liner. Do not be afraid to add more shelves or plant
platforms if you think you need them. Extra liner could equal
a unplanned stream or bog.

It is VERY important to check and maintain
a constant level from side to side, all around
the uppermost perimeter of the hole !!!
